Autumn/Winter Country Collection Photographic Shoot
Following our successful UK photoshoot in 2020, we decided to photograph our Autumn Winter Collection again on British shores, in scenic locations that fit our timeless style and showcase our UK designed garments to their best.
We decided to return to The Heath House in Tean, Staffordshire which has been the family home of the Philips family since the 16th Century. The current house was first constructed in 1836 and notable guests include Florence Nightingale, who came to The Heath House after the Crimean War. The Heath House was requisitioned for the Red Cross during World War II and was used as an auxiliary hospital for military personnel. After the war, the property was returned to the Philips family. The country house is a popular venue for weddings, garden parties, conferences and private dinners.

The house was once featured on Channel 4’s Country House Rescue
which was presented by the hotelier Ruth Watson in 2009 and 2010. The
house has also appeared in television programs including The Hound of the
Baskervilles and Agatha Christie’s They do it with Mirrors. Both the house and
grounds are beautiful even during a wet week in May. The owners could not
have been more accommodating and allowed us to use the beautiful bedrooms for
the photography of our nightwear. The split part-cantilevered oak staircase,
which rises to the first floor with its galleried landing, made the ideal backdrop to our Christmas occasion wear.
From here we moved on to Alrewas Hayes (Awl-ree-was Hayes) hidden in the heart of England. This Staffordshire country estate offered woodland, which was noted in the Doomsday Book, a private lake, formal gardens and a Grade II listed Queen Anne residence. The estate has been in the hands of the Williams family for five generations. Again a venue which usually plays host to weddings and celebrations. The owners welcomed our photographic team to this country retreat and were grateful to have people staying with them once again even if it was a much smaller group than they are used to.

The biggest risk as always for a photoshoot in the UK is the weather and unfortunately, it did not disappoint. We had bouncing rain in May but thanks to the tenacity and dedication of our shoot team, who have been working together for many years, we managed to navigate the wind and rain to get the photographs we needed for our catalogues and website. We even managed to take some TV footage so look out for our first-ever TV advert which will be airing on ITV3 in October. We think it showcases what Country Collection ladieswear stands for and look forward to receiving your feedback.
